Mother’s Day originated in the United States. It was initiated by Amanm Jarvis (1864-1948). She was unmarried all her life and always accompanied her mother. In the 1905,when her mother died, amanm was devastated. Two years later (1907), Amanm and her friends began to write to influential ministers, businessmen and legislators to seek support for making mother’s day a holiday.

The first mother’s Day was held in West Virginia and Pennsylvania on May 10, 1908. In this festival, the Cornell chime was selected as a flower dedicated to mother and passed down. In 1913, the U.S. Congress passed a bill to make the second Sunday of May the legal mother’s day. Mother’s Day spreads from now on!
